SAIF has been recognized as a 2016 Healthiest 100 Workplace in America. The awards program, presented by Springbuk, honors organizations for their commitment to employee health and exceptional corporate wellness programming.
SAIF was selected in large part because of the high participation rates from employees. For the last five years, 98 percent of SAIF employees have participated in the company's wellness program, which includes access to an on-site, no-cost Health and Wellness Center, incentives and free activity trackers to boost walking and physical activity, and a strong focus on office ergonomics.
"We treat our employees like a second family-we are concerned for their wellbeing and want to make work as safe-and fun-as possible," said Renae Coombs, SAIF's human resources manager. "We focus on activities that will engage and energize our workers-from encouraging daily walks to hosting an annual Ping-Pong tournament at our office."
Over 5,000 employers applied for the award nationally; other winners include SAIF policyholders Craft Brew Alliance, Leatherman Tool, and Emerick Architects.
SAIF is Oregon's not-for-profit, state-chartered workers' compensation insurance company. Since 1914 it has been caring for injured workers and helping to make workplaces safer. For more, visit the About SAIF page on saif.com
