Safety video contest open to all Oregon high school students
Students have a chance to win $500 for a short video on teen workplace safety awareness.
Oregon high school students with a knack for safety, storytelling, and video production are invited to participate in the "Speak up. Work safe." video contest for a chance to win cash for themselves and their schools.
The annual contest is organized by the Oregon Young Employee Safety Coalition, or O[yes], and sponsored by several safety organizations across the state, including SAIF. O[yes] strives to prevent on-the-job injuries and fatalities among young workers.
Videos can be submitted now through February 1, 2017. Applicants must be high school students in Oregon. The 90-second (or less) videos should inspire young workers to do at least one thing differently to stay safe in their jobs.
Students are encouraged to use humor, develop a key message, and get creative in showing ways to prevent injuries. See the contest rules for more information.
The top three entries will receive cash prizes ranging from $300 to $500 and earn a matching cash prize for their schools. Winners will be announced at a screening event in spring 2017.
