Krishna Balasubramani appointed to another term on SAIF board of directors
Balasubramani to serve second term on board.
As part of a vote on a number of governor appointments, the Oregon state senate unanimously voted Tuesday to approve Krishna Balasubramani’s reappointment to the SAIF board of directors for a second term. Balasubramani was initially appointed to the board in September 2013; member terms are four years.
Balasubramani is a partner in the firm Sather, Byerly and Holloway, LLP, in Portland, and represents employers in the Pacific Northwest in employment-related matters, including wrongful termination lawsuits, administrative complaints to the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and workers' compensation cases. Prior to joining Sather, Byerly and Holloway in 1996, he was a pro tem administrative law judge for the Workers' Compensation Board.
SAIF's board represents a cross-section of the workers' comp system, appointed by the governor to four-year terms. They represent organized labor, policyholders, the legal profession, and associations. The other board members are:
- Jenny Ulum, senior director of communication at King Estate Winery in Eugene
- Kevin Jensen, former business manager for Ironworkers Local 29 in Portland
- Maurice Rahming, president of O'Neill Electric in Portland
- Jeff Stone, executive director and CEO of the Oregon Association of Nurseries (OAN) in Wilsonville
