SAIF recognizes Baker City for 100 years of workers’ comp coverage
Baker City has been insured by SAIF since 1916.
SAIF celebrated Baker City Tuesday evening for being a policyholder for 100 years. Baker City signed up May of 1916—before it was legally mandatory for cities to provide workers' compensation coverage for employees.
"We have been proud to work with Baker City to ensure their workers—from city hall to public works, first responders, and volunteers—get the help they need when an injury or accident occurs on the job," said Michelle Graham, vice president of policyholder services at SAIF. "We're excited to commemorate this milestone and recognize Baker City for their work in making Oregon safer. Here's to another hundred years!"
To commemorate the anniversary, SAIF presented Baker City with a myrtlewood plaque, with wood from SAIF policyholder Rogue Myrtlewood.
