SAIF celebrated Baker City Tuesday evening for being a policyholder for 100 years. Baker City signed up May of 1916—before it was legally mandatory for cities to provide workers' compensation coverage for employees.
"We have been proud to work with Baker City to ensure their workers—from city hall to public works, first responders, and volunteers—get the help they need when an injury or accident occurs on the job," said Michelle Graham, vice president of policyholder services at SAIF. "We're excited to commemorate this milestone and recognize Baker City for their work in making Oregon safer. Here's to another hundred years!"
To commemorate the anniversary, SAIF presented Baker City with a myrtlewood plaque, with wood from SAIF policyholder Rogue Myrtlewood.
SAIF is Oregon's not-for-profit, state-chartered workers' compensation insurance company. Since 1914 it has been caring for injured workers and helping to make workplaces safer. For more, visit the About SAIF page on saif.com
