Duck House Chinese Restaurant

The Duck House Chinese restaurant in southwest Portland is more than an eatery — it’s a community.

“The hardest part about the pandemic was not being able to serve our customers. We have a lot of regulars who dine with us several times a month,” says owner Harvey Liu, who opened the restaurant specializing in Szechuan cuisine in 2016.

During the pandemic, the restaurant quickly adapted to takeout and delivery only. It also followed strong safety protocols such as one-way entry and exits for customers, sanitized pens, and hand sanitizers. “I’m so proud of our staff,” says Harvey.

Around late June 2021, the restaurant reopened to dine-in customers, who can once again enjoy the food and atmosphere. “We’re blessed to have a diverse base of customers,” says Harvey. “Especially during dinner hours, there’s fantastic energy at Duck House.”
