Oregon Manufacturing Innovation Center
OIT’s mechanical engineering students have a unique opportunity for experience.
Oregon Institute of Technology’s mechanical engineering students have a unique opportunity at the Oregon Manufacturing Innovation Center (OMIC) in Scappoose. Working here on paid summer internships, they’ll find some of the most advanced manufacturing and inspection machines from around the globe, allowing them to acquire essential skills and knowledge.
Students become experienced researchers exposed to real-world situations. According to Don Hendrickson, OMIC R&D’s interim executive director, interning at OMIC R&D can “really change students’ perspective on what their future could be and what they can learn here.”
