Second round of ag safety webinars begins Jan. 19
SAIF’s annual trainings will again be only online in January, February, and March.
Like the fall ag safety seminars, the ones in the first quarter of 2021 will by online via webinar rather than in-person.
Webinars in English are on January 19 and 20 and March 17 and 18. Webinars entirely in Spanish are on February 9 and 10. They are split into two sessions that are two hours long.
The schedule, registration details, and list of presenters is at saif.com/agseminars.
The topics this year are:
- Choosing the right PPE
- Emergency first aid on the farm
- Ag hacks ... plus other useful tools and innovations
- Making the most of safety committee meetings
Why attending is totally worth it
The seminars are designed primarily for people working in agriculture, but are open to anyone interested in ag safety and health-they don't have to be insured by SAIF.
Employers with small ag businesses who watch all four hours of webinar content will meet OSHA's instructional requirement—one of four requirements that exempt small agricultural operations from random OSHA inspections.
Three hours of technical and one hour of business continuing education credits are available from the Landscape Contractors Board.
Four regular producer continuing education credit hours for licensed insurance agents have been approved by the Department of Consumer and Business Services.
