SAIF offers a variety of voluntary benefits choices for you and your family. You can enroll in the following benefits during your initial enrollment period, first 31 days of employment. After that, you can only enroll during open enrollment, unless noted below.

With legal insurance from ARAG®, not only will you benefit from paid-in-full Network Attorney fees for most covered legal matters, but you'll also be able to take advantage of new enhancements and benefits that offer even more protection for you and your family. The cost is $22.18 per month, which includes eligible dependents.
Portability is available which allows you to convert from group to individual coverage in the event they leave employment. Coverage will remain the same but will be billed directly to the insured.
ASIFlex flexible spending accounts
Flexible spending accounts (FSA) allow you to set aside money from your paycheck in pre-tax dollars to pay for essential health care expenses not covered by your medical, dental, and vision insurance plans, dependent care expenses, and commuter transportation expenses. You must re-enroll in these accounts each year if you wish to participate.
SAIF's plan year is January 1 through December 31; all claims must be filed on or before March 31 following the end of the plan year.
The 2025 healthcare FSA annual limit is $3,300, the Dependent Care FSA annual limit is $5,000, and the commuter expense reimbursement account (CERA) monthly limit is $325 for parking and $325 for vanpooling/transit passes.
The maximum amount of unused dollars in your 2024 healthcare FSA that can be rolled over for use in 2025 is $640.
The maximum amount of unused dollars in your 2025 healthcare FSA that can be rolled over for use in 2026 is $660.

You may enroll yourself and/or your eligible dependents at any time during the year. Eligible dependents are either a spouse, domestic partner, and/or children through age 25 (disabled children over age 25 may be eligible as well).
- A Member (Employee) may not be insured as both a Member (Employee) and a Dependent (on Spouse/DP plan).
- A child may not be insured by more than one Member (Employee).
- A dependent does not include a person who is a full-time member of the armed forces of any country.
Coverage is purchased in increments of $10,000 (minimum) up to $250,000. Evidence of insurability is not a requirement of this plan.
Cost per month:
- Employee only - $0.20 per $10,000
- Employee plus dependent(s) - $0.40 per $10,000

Evidence of Insurability FAQs
You may enroll yourself and/or your eligible dependents at any time during the year, though you may be required to complete a medical questionnaire (also known as evidence of insurability). Eligible dependents are either a spouse, domestic partner, and/or children through age 25 (disabled children over age 25 may be eligible as well).
- A child may not be insured by more than one Member (Employee).
- A dependent does not include a person who is a full-time member of the armed forces of any country.
Coverage is purchased in increments of $10,000 (minimum) up to five times your base annual salary or $500,000, whichever is less. The following are guarantee issue amounts if you elect this coverage during your initial enrollment period. Otherwise, evidence of insurability is a requirement of this plan.
- Employee - $200,000
- Spouse or domestic partner - $50,000 (enrollment contingent on enrollment in the additional voluntary employee life plan)
- Child(ren) - $10,000 (no evidence of insurability is required for this plan)

You may enroll yourself and/or your eligible family members at any time during the year. Eligible family members include spouse, domestic partner, children 18 and older, siblings 18 and older, parents, parents-in-law, grandparents, and grandparents-in-law.
If you enroll during your initial enrollment period, you are eligible for a guaranteed issue amount, up to $4,000 with a facility benefit duration of three or six years. Otherwise, evidence of insurability is a requirement of this plan. There is no guarantee issue amount for family members, and they are subject to evidence of insurability.
